'''Minuscule 189''' (in the [[Biblical manuscript#Gregory-Aland|Gregory-Aland]] numbering), α 269 ([[Biblical manuscript#Von Soden|Soden]]), is a [[Greek language|Greek]] [[Lower case|minuscule]] [[manuscript]] of the [[New Testament]], on parchment. [[Paleography|Paleographically]] it had been assigned to the 14th century.<sup>[1]</sup> 

== Description ==

The codex contains the text of the four [[Gospel]]s, [[Acts of the Apostles]], [[Catholic epistles]] and [[Pauline epistles]] on 452 elegant parchment leaves (size 11.5 cm by 9.8 cm).<sup>[1]</sup> Written in one column per page, in 24 lines per page,<sup>[1]</sup> in light-black ink, capital letters in red.<sup>[2]</sup> Letters are small and beautiful.  It contains lists of κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, lectionary equipment, αναγνωσεις, [[Synaxarion|synaxaria]],<sup>[3]</sup> [[Euthalius|Euthalian]] apparatus to Catholic and Pauline epistles.<sup>[2]</sup> It has only one [[Lacuna (manuscripts)|lacunae]] in John 19:38-21:25.<sup>[2]</sup> 

== Text ==

The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the [[Byzantine text-type]]. [[Kurt Aland|Aland]] placed it in [[Categories of New Testament manuscripts#Category V|Category V]].<sup>[4]</sup> Von Soden classified it as member of the textual family [[Family Kr|K<sup>r</sup>]] and it was confirmed by Wisse.<sup>[5]</sup>

== History ==

It was examined by [[Andrew Birch|Birch]], [[Johann Martin Augustin Scholz|Scholz]], [[Dean Burgon|Burgon]], and Gregory (1886).<sup>[2]</sup> 

It is currently housed at the [[Laurentian Library]] (Plutei. VI. 27), at [[Florence]].<sup>[1]</sup>
