Minuscule 151 (in the Gregory-Aland numbering), A17 (Soden), is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament, on parchment leaves. Paleographically it had been assigned to the 10th century.[1] Birch and Scrivener dated to the 11th century.
Description
The codex contains a complete text of the four Gospels on 224 parchment leaves (size 24.5 cm by 12.5 cm) with a commentary.[2]
Written in one column per page, in 28 lines per page.[3] Ink is black, Capital letters in colour and gold.[4]
It contains Epistula ad Carpianum, Eusebian tables, tables of κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, Ammonian Sections, pictures, and scholia in the margin,[5] Menologion, stichoi, and pictures. Hebrew words explained at the beginning.[6]
The text of Matthew 16:2b-3 and John 7:53-8:11 omitted.[7]
Text
The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the Byzantine text-type. Aland placed it in Category V.[8]
It contains some rare readings (e.g. John 19:14).[9]
History
It was examined by Birch and Scholz.[10]
Text of Mark 16:8-20 of the codex was used by Cardinal Angelo Mai in his edition of the text of Codex Vaticanus Graecus 1209 ("pseudo-facsimile" published posthumoustly in 1857).[11]
It is currently housed at the Vatican Library (Pal. gr. 220), at Rome.[12]
