| The '''New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures''' (''[[NWT]]'') is a modern-language translation of the [[Bible]] published by the cult of the [[Jehovah's Witnesses]] using the not-for-profit corporations [[Legal instruments of Jehovah's Witnesses|Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc.]] and the International Bible Students Association of [[Brooklyn, New York]], published in 1961. It is not the first Bible to be published by the group, but is their first original translation of ancient [[Hebrew language|Hebrew]], [[Greek language|Greek]], and [[Aramaic language|Aramaic]] Biblical texts.
