Minuscule 29 (in the Gregory-Aland numbering), ε 1022 (Soden). It is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament, written on vellum. Paleographically it had been assigned to the 11th century.[1]

Contents

Description

The codex contains the text of the four Gospels on 169 parchment leaves (18.1 by 14.1 cm). Written in one column per page, 30 lines per page.[2] Correctly written by a Latin scribe. It contains Prolegomena, the Eusebian Canons, subscriptions, Synaxarion, and Menologion. Initial letters written in colour.[3 ] In the three later Gospels some leaves lost (Matt. 1-15; Mark 16:15 - Luke 4:28), and were supplied in the 15th century by paper leaves.[3]

The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the Byzantine text-type. Aland place it in Category V.[4]

History

The manuscript was examined by Scholz (1794-1852).[5]

It is currently housed at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (Gr. 89) at Paris.[]6
