  • 1 And Job answered and said:
  • 1 No doubt but you are the people, and wisdom shall die with you!
  • 1 But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Yes, who does not know such things as these?
  • 1 I am as one mocked by his friend, who calls on God, and he answers Him, the just and upright man is mocked.
  • 1 He that is preparing to slide with his feet, is like an irritating flame in the thought of him that is secure.
  • 1 The tents of robbers prosper, and those who provoke God are secure- in whatever God brings bountifully to their hand.
  • 1 But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; and the birds of the air, and they will tell you;
  • 1 Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; and the fish of the sea will explain to you.
  • 1 Who in all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?
  • 10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
  • 1 Does not the ear test words and the mouth taste it food?
  • 1 With the aged men is wisdom; and with length of days, understanding.
  • 13 With Him is wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding.
  • 1 Behold, He breaks a thing down, and it cannot be rebuilt; He incarcerates a man, and there can be no release.
  • 1 Behold, He withholds the waters, and they dry up; if He sends them out, then they overturn the earth.
  • 1 With Him is strength and wisdom. The deceived and the deceiver are His.
  • 1 He leads counselors away plundered, and makes the judges fools.
  • 1 He unties the bonds of kings, and binds their waist with a belt.
  • 19 He leads princes away plundered, and overthrows the mighty.
  • 1 He takes away the speech of trusted people, and takes away the understanding of the elders.
  • 21 He pours contempt on princes, and weakens the strength of the mighty.
  • 1 He uncovers deep things out of darkness, and brings the shadow of death to light.
  • 1 He makes nations great, and destroys them; he enlarges nations, and leads them dispersed again.
  • 1 He takes away the understanding of the chiefs of the people of the earth, and causes them to wander in a pathless wilderness.
  • 25 They grope in the dark without light, and he makes them to stagger like a drunken man.
