- 1 In the LORD I put my trust; how can you say to my soul, Flee like a bird to your mountain?
- 2 Because look, the wicked bend their bow, they make their arrow ready on the string, that they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.
- 3 If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?
- 4 The LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids examine, the children of men.
- 5 The LORD tests the righteous, but His soul hates the wicked and those who love violence.
- 6 He will rain snares upon the wicked, fire and brimstone and an aweful wind; this shall be the portion of their cup.
- 7 For the righteous LORD loves righteousness; His countenance looks upon the upright.
