Papyrus Oxyrhynchus 79 (P. Oxy. 79), a Notification of Death in the Greek language. The manuscript was written on papyrus in a form of the sheet. It was discovered by Grenfell and Hunt in 1897 in Oxyrhynchus. The document was written between 181-192. Currently it is housed in the British Museum (756) in London. The text was published by Grenfell and Hunt in 1898.[1]

The letter contains a declaration and was addressed to the village. It was written by Cephalas. The measures of the fragment are 130 by70 mm.[2]
