When I was a Girl Scout leader about 10 years ago, the cokoies went over $3. a box (in Virginia). Our troop got 10 cents of that and if we wanted to do anything that cost money, we had to do our own fund raisers. We could only do them during the very cold months because fall was cooies and spring was calenders. What limited us even more was we could not do anything that was the same time as the United Way drive! Why do I write this? Some think that Girl Scouts is still OK on a local level because they know the leaders and girls. However, when you buy cokoies, you really are supporting the big machine. Thank God for American Heritage Girls so that my girls can enjoy scouting. God bless,Kris
