Zaavan (za'-a-van or za'-awan) ("terror, trembling"), son of Ezer, was a Horite chief in the Land of Edom. (Gen. 36:27, I Chr. 1:42)[1]

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (ISBE)

zā´a-van (זעון, za‛ăwān, meaning unknown): A Horite descendant of Seir (Gen_36:27; 1Ch_1:42). In 1 Chronicles, Lucian has Ζαυάν, Zauán = Samaritan זוען, z-w-‛-n i.e., Zaw‛ān, from a root meaning “to tremble,” “fear” (see זוע, BDB). King James Version has “Zavan” in 1 Chronicles.
