These three verses will suffice to show us that in Luke 6:48, the Lord Jesus Christ was not speaking about a house that was well-built. This was far from a structural engineering lesson. The teaching here is that those who are on the Lord Jesus Christ, namely those who are saved, are like a house which can never be affected by any of the harsh elements because of its foundation. Our foundation is in the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Cor 3:11 KJV) For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. The true believer is safe upon the Lord Jesus Christ and the modern versions hide this great and comforting fact. God is our Rock and our salvation and to remove the part in Luke 6:48 about being founded on a rock is to distort this beautiful truth. Then again, what do the modern versions have to do with truth?

Affected Teaching

Once again the modern versions attack and remove a tremendous reference to the Lord Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament, God is spoken of as a rock:

(Psa 95:1 KJV) O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. (Psa 94:22 KJV) But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. (Psa 78:35 KJV) And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.
