Minuscule 456 (in the Gregory-Aland numbering), α 52 (in the Soden numbering), is a Greek minuscule manuscript of the New Testament, on parchment. Paleographically it had been assigned to the 10th century.[1] Formerly it was labelled by 86a, 96p, and 75r.[2]

Description

The codex contains the text of the Acts of the Apostles, Catholic epistles, and Pauline epistles on 244 parchment leaves (19 cm by 14.1 cm). Written in two columns per page, in 32 lines per page.[1] Letters written above lines. It contains Prolegomena, tables of κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, lectionary markings, subscriptions, and στιχοι. The last leaf of the Book of Revelation was added in the 16th century.[3]

The order of books: Acts, Catholic epistles, Pauline epistles, and Book of Revelation.[3]

History

The manuscript was examined by Birch, Scholz, Biscioni, and Gregory.[3] It was slightly collated by Scholz.[2] Hoskier collated text of the Apocalypse.

It is currently housed at the Laurentian Library (Plutei IV. 30) in Florence.[1]
