Woe to her who is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!

She has not obeyed the voice, she has not receive correction; she has not trusted in the LORD, she has not drawn near to her God.

Her princes in her midst are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves that do not gnaw away the bones until the next day.

Her prophets are fickle and treacherous people; her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.

The just LORD is in the midst of it, He will do no iniquity. Every morning He brings His justice to light; He does not fail, but the unjust knows no shame.

“I have cut off nations, their towers are desolate; I made their streets a wasteland, so that no one passes by. Their cities are destroyed, so that there is no one, that there is no inhabitant.

I said, ‘Surely you shall fear Me, You will receive instruction’; so their dwelling would not be cut off, no matter how I punished them, they nevertheless rose early and corrupted all their deeds.

“Therefore wait for Me,” Says the Lord, “Until the day I rise up to the prey; My determination is to gather the nations that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour on them My indignation, even all My fierce anger; because, all the earth will be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.

“Because, then I will return to the people a pure language, that they all may call on the name of the LORD, to serve Him with one accord.

From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia My seekers, even the daughter of My dispersed, will bring My offering.

In that day you will not be shamed for all of your deeds in which you have transgressed against Me; because, then I will take away from your midst those who rejoice in your pride, and you will no longer be haughty because of My holy mountain.

I will leave in your midst a afflicted and poor people, and they will trust in the name of the LORD.

The remnant of Israel will not do iniquity, nor speak lies. Neither will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth; because, they will feed and lie down, and no one will make them afraid.”

Sing, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!

The LORD has taken away your judgments, He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, even" the Lord, is in the midst of you; you will no longer see disaster.

In that day it will be said to Jerusalem: “Do not fear;” and to Zion, “Let not your hands be weak.”

The LORD your God in the midst of you is Mighty. He will save; He will rejoice over you with joy, He will rest in His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

“I will gather those who are sorrowful over the appointed assembly, who are among you, to whom its reproach was a burden.

Behold, at that time I will undo all who afflict you; I will save her who is lame, and gather her who were driven out, and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they were put to shame.

At that time I will bring you back again, even during the time that I gather you; because, I will make you a name and a praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes,” Says the LORD.
